Muhammad ibn Aslam al-Tusi was among the otherworldly righteous scholars. He died and did not leave anything except his garment and skullcap. They placed them on his bier. He also left a vessel for making ablution [wudu], which was given away in charity. The women gathered on their roofs during his funeral and said, "This scholar who has passed from the world, his bequest [is these few things] on his bier. He isn't like our [other] scholars. They are slaves of their stomachs. One of them sits two or three years teaching and gains nothing but loss, benefiting only in worldly goods.
